AI Magnifies the Operator, Not the Tool

On Growth Notes, Frazier says AI will make some people better and others worse because it amplifies whatever habits and skills someone already has. Organized, thoughtful, disciplined communicators can use AI to move faster and operate at a higher level, while poor follow-up, messy databases, and generic messaging will just be scaled up more quickly. Frazier argues most people focus on the tool, but the real power is the operator, since stronger tools don’t fix weak judgment—they extend it. He gives an example of using AI to prepare for conversations with consumers or agents: without notes and context, AI produces average answers, but with detailed notes from past conversations and clear understanding of what the person cares about, AI delivers far more effective preparation.
